Yesterday Cole turned 21 months old! He is growing so big! Cole's vocabulary has gotten bigger (although you still need to be fluent in toddler to understand!). He is still enjoying swim lessons and has taken to helping around the house with chores. His favorite thing to do is swiffer the floors - - - he will NOT give up the swiffer!! He also loves to put stuff "away", so we keep finding sippy cups and snack traps in the oddest locations . . . .like my sewing cabinet (he made room by moving my thread to the kitchen pots and pans cabinet). There was also one night where he put my cell phone in the oven storage drawer :) At least he likes to pick up!
We planned on including a picture of Cole and Santa in this years Christmas card - - - turns out the meeting between Cole and Santa didn't go well :) This evening we took some photos in front of our Christmas tree to use instead. The top one will be on our Christmas card!
I know I say this every month, but time is really flying by! Cole has become such a little boy!! He can say quite a few words (although you have to be fluent in "toddler" to understand them all) and he is having a ball mimicking our actions. His favorite things to do right now are play with his puzzles (he has gotten SO good with them), play with his legos and read books. Right now the book "First 100 Words" is his favorite. He brings it to us and then has us say the word while he finds the picture and points to it. He is especially good at animals, I think it is all of our trips to the zoo, but he loves to point out the zebra's, camel, lion and bear in his book.

Still going strong at swim lessons! Cole can blow bubbles and almost float on his back by himself. He can also "monkey crawl" on the edge of the pool and crawl out himself!

The above video is Cole at the zoo watching the ant eaters and capybara. He could stand at this exhibit and watch them for hours! I think he likes it because he can see in through the slats in the wood fence.
Below, was Cole's first attempt at the putting green at our local 9 hole course and driving range. He had fun!
On Saturday Cole turned 19 months old! He is 31" tall and weighs 24 pounds!
We spent Saturday at our friend, Penny's, birthday party and Cole got to play with a whole bunch of kids at Gymboree!

Our little guy is officially 1 1/2 years old! He has been changing so much lately. He is walking everywhere (very independent!) and his vocabulary is expanding so much!! He really is becoming a little boy and is no longer a "baby" :(

Cole has been walking while holding on to our hands for quite a while. Then, Cole started taking unassisted steps about 6 weeks ago - - then he fell and decided walking wasn't worth it. Now he is up and walking, all by himself!!
Today Cole celebrates being 17 months old! He went to the doctor last week and weighed in at 21.5 pounds :) He has gotten so big! Last week Cole came down with a virus, so he was quarantined to the house for a whole week. I bet he will be so happy to go back to his normal activities this week.
Cole is still loving going to MyGym and swimming lessons. His favorite toys are books! It seems that each week he has a different favorite book that he carries around with him at all times. Over the last couple of weeks he has been especially attached to Bobby Bunny, Mommy's Best Kisses, The Icky Sticky Frog and The Poky Little Puppy. He just loves having the books read to him (over and over and over . . .) and he babbles away "reading" the book back. He also loves to point out all the pictures in the book, we just ask him where something is and he finds it and points it out (i.e. "Where's the cat?" and he points to the cat in the picture). Cole also loves watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, especially when he is tired and just wants to wind down. It is so cute to watch him do his version of the "hot dog dance" :)

Over the last couple of days we have been trying to pick up some more points for the Capture California game - - - we had really been slacking! The picture of adventure #16, "Hug a Tree" was just so cute that I figured I would post it here too. Enjoy!
Today I pulled Cole's camp chair out of the closet to see if he was big enough to use it yet. He is still having a little trouble but, for the most part, has it down!
Cole has been going to MyGym for about a month. He loves going and playing on all the equipment!! We have been taking full advantage of the unlimited classes during summer, so Cole has been going 3 days a week!
Cole is starting to master his chopsticks when we go to sushi! Usually he just gets a pile of rice/ avocado/ crab, but our last trip to sushi the waitress brought him out a roll wrapped in soy paper to make it easier for him to eat (than nori). Since his dinner was in roll form, he wanted to eat it with chopsticks like mommy and daddy. Not too bad for his first time!
