Update and Maternity Leave
Last Tuesday at my NST appointment, my blood pressure was high (usually it is under control with my meds), this meant a trip to the birthing center for additional monitoring. The doctor at the birthing center wanted me to start my maternity leave right away, so that I could spend my days resting. We agreed that I would work half days until March 4th -36 weeks (I was originally supposed to work until March 11 - 37 weeks) so that I could be on modified bed rest. At my follow up doctors appointment on Thursday, my doctor decided that I needed to go out on maternity leave, full-time, starting today. So, long story short, I am now on maternity leave and taking it easy in an effort to keep my blood pressure under control. Starting this week we will have 3 doctors appointments a week - 2 NST's and one regular doctors appointment. We will also have another ultrasound tomorrow to check on Cole's growth. Hopefully my BP will behave itself for a couple more weeks, so that baby Cole can stay baking as long as possible!!

Update
I thought I would take a few minutes to give an update on baby Cole.
Only 6 weeks and 2 days until his due date of April 1, 2011!! Last Monday we had a 32 week ultrasound to track Cole's growth. He is doing well and is expected to be a little baby (measured about 3 lbs 1 oz at his ultrasound). Due to my pre-existing high blood pressure, last week we started going for twice a week non-stress tests (NST's). These tests just provide some extra fetal monitoring to make sure that Cole is doing great (which he is!). The only problem we seem to be having is that the second the nurse hooks up the monitors Cole falls asleep :) The nurses have to poke and prod at him to wake him up so there is something on the monitors to track! Between the twice a week NST's and my every-other-week OB appointments time will be flying by!!
We can't wait to meet our little man!
