Working on the Nursery!

This week has been spent working on Cole's bedroom! We are getting the walls painted, trim work added and the hardwood floors cleaned. Once we are a little further along I will post some before and after pictures for all to see. Cole's furniture also came in this week and we were able to pick it up (with some help from my dad and his truck), so his changing table/ dresser and crib are waiting standby to go into his new room!! So exciting!

This week

This week we had another ultrasound just to confirm gender. Our medical center (Kaiser) wouldn't give us a gender photo so we decided to go to a private ultrasound place just to get the extra sense of "yes, its a boy". Well, within a couple seconds we could definitely see that out little one is, for SURE, a boy :) It was wonderful to get to see him again and to hear his little heart beat away!! It is crazy how fast he is growing!!

Daddy felt Cole move :)

Last night Greg felt Cole move for the first time :) I had been feeling him move for weeks and had been waiting for the movements to be strong enough to feel on the outside. Finally last night Cole kicked Greg's hand hard enough for him to feel. It was an AMAZING moment!!!

Shopping!

This weekend we got some baby shopping done. It was my first real time going out and buying anything for little Cole. My mom and I got several adorable little outfits . . . . newborn sized overalls are just too cute to pass up! I also secured the diaper bag I wanted :) We have also chosen and ordered Cole's crib bedding set. Since the set we like was not available from the store we will be registering at, we decided to go ahead and order it online. Once it comes in we will be able to choose the paint colors for the walls and start getting the nursery ready!

Another "Thank you"!

We would like to give a big "Thank you" to Bev and Tim for the surprise baby clothes package! They sent us two adorable onesies and a cute little pair of pants. It is so amazing to have the support of friends and family on this journey. We cannot wait for Cole to be here and get to meet all of these wonderful people who mean so much to us!!

Special "Thank you"

We would like to give a special "thank you" to Sparra, Josh and Jude for passing down the ADORABLE Giant's outfit :) It is SO cute and we cannot wait for Cole to wear it this spring!!! GO GIANTS!

It's a . . . . .

We had our 20 week anatomy scan on Friday afternoon. The ultrasound tech said . . . it's a BOY :)
We cannot wait to meet our little man in person!

Dr. Appointment

We had a doctors appointment yesterday and got to hear our little peeps heartbeat again :) Such a wonderful sound!! The doctor has ordered our 20 week ultrasound for sometime in early November. We cannot wait to set the date for that appointment because its when we will be able to find out the gender of the peep!
The appointment also included our 2nd semester screening blood draw and my flu/H1N1 shot . . . I felt like a pin cushion by the time I left!

Sorry its been a while since I posted . . .

My work trip to New York went well. I had some trouble with nausea, but got through it (my nausea has been terrible the last couple of weeks!). Outside of boring work stuff, I got to have some fun dinners out and got to see "The Addams Family" the musical starring Nathan Lane and Bebe Neuwirth. It was such an amazing experience to see Nathan Lane on Broadway!! While in NY, I bought the baby its first outfit - - a " I (heart) NY" onesie :) So cute!!

Start of Week 15

We cannot believe we are already starting week 15! The time is going by so quickly :)

This weeks milestones:

I had to tell the baby "no" for the first time on Tuesday. It seems the baby wanted a burger for lunch but I had to say "no" and we had a salad instead.

Baby is taking its first plane ride on Monday when mommy goes to New York for work. Hopefully we have a nice and easy time in the air - - - I don't need to be air sick on top of pregnancy sick (which has decided to pick up in the second trimester).

It's Officially the Second Trimester!

1/3 down and 2/3 to go! Very exciting!

First Trimester Screening

We had our first trimester screening test yesterday (the Nuchal Translucency ultrasound). The results were wonderful (preliminarily negative for any abnormalities!) and we got a whole bunch of new "baby pictures" to share! We also got to hear the heartbeat for the first time - SO amazing!! The little peep's heart was beating like crazy at 167 BPM :)

Tomorrow will start week 14, which means we will officially be out of the first trimester. We are very excited about that!

The rumors are true!

Yes, the rumors are true, we are having a baby!! After 13 "hush, hush" weeks we are excited to share the news that we are expecting our first (human) baby. (If you know Jax, you understand why we need to add "human" to the mix!). We discovered the big news on July 20, 2010 and have been taking the last two months cautiously, while we waited for confirmation from our doctor via ultrasound. We have now had the pleasure of seeing our little "peep" (a nickname derived from the baby's close to Easter due date) on ultrasound. It was absolutely stunning to see the little heart flicker away at 10 weeks and then to see all the activity of somersaults and "dancing" at our 12 weeks appointment.

We cannot wait to watch our baby grow and prepare for its April Fools Day arrival in our lives!
